Hall Family Foundation
The Hall Family Foundation is a private philanthropic organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of human life. Programs that enrich the community, help people and promote excellence are considered to be of prime importance. The foundation seeks to be responsive to programs that are innovative, yet strive to create permanent solutions to community needs in the Greater Kansas City area. The Hall Family Foundation concentrates its philanthropic efforts on five areas of interest in the Greater Kansas City area: education; children, youth and families; the arts; community development; and community-wide efforts that seek to provide long-term solutions to local issues of high priority.
Education is a core Funding/in-kind resources initiative for The Hall Family Foundation's grants; several of these grants seek to advance STEM education. The Hall Family Foundation has promised $50 million in Funding/in-kind resources over ten years for the Kansas City Area Life Sciences Institute, which strives to advance the life sciences in the Kansas City region through research, commercialization and workforce development. The institute fosters constructive relationships between the academic and private sectors; facilitates collaborative scientific research; advocates for the life sciences at local, state and national levels; and supports economic development, technology transfer and commercialization. In addition, the Hall Family Foundation made a recent grant in the amount of $45,000 to Science Pioneers, an organization which creates innovative and supportive education activities that will encourage the youth of Kansas City to understand and use science and critical thinking in their careers and everyday lives.
